The Pennine Way between Tan Hill and Baldersdale, on the borders of the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines, splits in two with one branch visiting the village of Bowes.

Following recent recces we will begin to offer the direct route to Baldersdale as our norm, missing Bowes. It's a marginal decision and we'll continue to offer both options. As with all our trips, we experiment based on our research and our clients' thoughts. The moorland stretches direct to Baldersdale are lonely but charming.
