Walker's Haute Route variations

Posted on Monday, 6 September 2010 . Permalink

Simon visited the Swiss Valais at the end of August 2010 to recce some variations to our normal route. These will go into our normal schedules for 2011. It was a sunny trip and here are some photos:

On the Europaweg, the 2-stage route high above the Mattertal that brings trekkers into Zermatt

More Europaweg scenery, in a high rocky cleft

A long metal suspension bridge crosses a landslip

Cabane de Moiry (the modern part) back at the top of Val d'Anniviers

Tranquil La Sage in Val d'Herens

The postbuses wait in Vissoie before heading to Zinal, Grimentz and St Luc

In the rocky corrie between Col de Termin and Col de Louvie

More details of these new options will appear on the holiday pages below. Please contact us any time to chat about your Haute Route in 2011. The scenery on this trek is fabulously good.
